Dark Leaf Woods has been an enigma throughout history. The dense forest that occupies the northwestern region of the country has been shrouded in mystery and intrigue for many centuries, with locals avoiding the area at all costs.
The woods gained their infamous reputation in ancient times, during the reign of King Edward II. According to legend, a group of knights ventured into Dark Leaf Woods to search for a missing prince. As they travelled deeper into the woods, they began to experience strange phenomena – trees would move out of place or disappear entirely, lakes would appear and disappear without warning, and animals would behave strangely.
The knights eventually came upon an ominous castle deep in the heart of Dark Leaf Woods. Inside they found a wicked sorcerer named Valtor who had captured the missing prince and was using his magic powers to terrorize anyone who dared enter his domain.
Despite their efforts to defeat him, Valtor proved too powerful for the knights and he ultimately escaped through a hidden portal deep within the castle’s walls. Throughout history, travellers have reported hearing strange noises emanating from within these dungeons.
Throughout time Dark Leaf Woods remained one of our country's least explored and mystifying regions because so much remains unknown about it; even today. There is reportedly only one small hamlet located on its periphery—a collection of homesteads governed by strict anti-magic laws given their vulnerable proximity to such dangerous lands wherein abominable specters dwell & mythical beasts roam free on occasion.
